Information

Different "pieces" of the wall still stand here and there in Berlin. When that is no longer the case, the outline is marked on the ground. However, there still remains a portion of the wall: East Side Gallery. Stretching 1.3 kilometers, this piece has become a canvas for artistic expression with numerous works of Street Art.

Opinion

The East Side Gallery is one of my favorite places to visit and is certainly one of the most visited spots in Berlin. Among the most famous works is the Kiss of Friendship between Brezhnev and Honecker, painted by Dmitry Vrubel.

Opinion

Some essentials: the kiss of friendship, the Trabant breaking through the wall, Checkpoint Charlie on the day of the fall of the wall, or "Worlds People".

Information

This is the longest section of the Berlin Wall still standing today. Located in the Friedrichshain neighborhood, it stretches for 1.3 km (at 3.60 meters high), from the Ostbahnhof station to the Oberbaumbrucke bridge. From the moment the wall fell, artists from around the world came to cover it with murals, conveying messages of peace and tolerance and transforming this wall of shame into a wall of hope.
