To access Bodie from Yosemite, you can take the CA270 road, which quickly becomes a dirt road over the last 5 kilometers. Expect to be shaken! This road is passable by any vehicle in the summer. However, due to its high altitude, access can be challenging in winter and spring when the snow melts.

Bodie is a ghost town lost in the middle of nowhere, northeast of Yosemite in Mono County. It was founded following the discovery of gold in 1859 and peaked in the 1880s with a population of about 10,000 inhabitants. Today, Bodie is a state historic park and is remarkably well preserved.
