The falls are composed of three main sections. Upper Yosemite Fall: at a height of 436 meters, it is the largest of the three sections. The swift waters of Yosemite Creek plunge from the top of a hanging valley in a fantastic spectacle. Middle Cascades: between the two main falls, there is a series of four smaller falls collectively called the Middle Cascades. Together, they represent a total drop of 206 meters. Lower Yosemite Fall: the final waterfall, measuring 98 meters, is easily accessible and offers a beautiful viewpoint.

Yosemite Falls are a major attraction of the park, especially in late spring when the water flow is at its peak. However, it should be noted that, except during very wet years, the falls completely cease to flow by the end of summer or in autumn (which was the case when we were there).
