The capital of the region, Bari is a must-see. It's a port city worth a visit for its beautiful historical center between its two ports. Its winding little streets have such picturesque charm, everything seems to be frozen in time.

Just a few minutes from Bari International Airport lies this neighborhood: a small seaside village in the city. Very quiet and picturesque, like a small town close to the big city but at a slow pace.

A very popular establishment for its panzerotti, among the locals and tourists of the city: the prices are interesting and the food is tasty. Be careful, the vendors are authentic and mostly speak only Italian: you need to pay attention when they call you!

Bari and the sea are intimately linked, and there are many urban beaches. Here, we are 30 minutes on foot from the historic center: I highly recommend this beach; there are always a few people, but its crystal-clear water is worth stopping by.

A good address if you're looking for a cheap pizza (between €3 and a maximum of €7) in a very cute little square in the evening with its lights.

A good address in the city center of Bari. Certainly, the room is not very large, but everything is modern and comfortable. There is even a small rooftop that you can enjoy.

Tips for visiting Puglia.

  • After this region of Italy is vast, so if you are going on a road trip in Puglia, I do not recommend less than 7 days. And if you also want to visit the north of Puglia and enjoy the surroundings, I recommend 15 days on site.
  • Once you arrive at the airport, I advise you to rent a car and compare rental prices on Discovercar. Otherwise, you can easily get from the airport to downtown Bari by train (about 30 minutes).
