Alice Springs
Remote town in the Northern Territory of Australia, halfway between Darwin and Adelaide, both 1,500 km away. It serves as a popular gateway to explore the Red Centre, the desert region inland. Founded in 1872 as part of the Overland Telegraph Line (connecting Darwin and Adelaide), the town has maintained its period atmosphere through the old buildings and equipment of the historic Alice Springs Telegraph Station reserve.

The city may not seem interesting at first glance. The center resembles a village. There’s not much to do. But we loved cycling there. There are bike paths everywhere and sometimes we pass by real treasures.

We were able to explore the city a lot by bike. Whenever we were motivated to bike for thirty minutes to reach the center, we did so to visit the Botanical Garden and admire the 360-degree view, the pedestrian streets, the library (we enjoyed working there), and look for a job.
