Despite its translucent water and the paradise-like scenery, it is a very touristy place.

This long and narrow strip of golden sand with its soft and almost transparent colors reminiscent of certain beaches in the East is mistakenly nicknamed "Maldive del Salento": a brilliant marketing move given the crowds flocking there... in my humble opinion, mistakenly. On this beach quite detached from the others, you will see luxury tents overlooking the Ionian Sea or set a bit further back. It is the most expensive beach in Italy, called "Le Cinque Vele Beach Club": in August, for a pavilion with a lounge area, tables, four extra-comfort king-size beds, beach towels, and an aperitif with fruits and bubbles, you could spend over 1000 euros per day!
