You can take the many stairs that lead down from Mount Royal to reach downtown.

I find that the Kondiaronk lookout at Mount Royal Chalet is the best place to start a visit to Montreal. It gives you a panoramic view of the city, the location of the river, downtown with the skyscrapers, and the enormous mural of Leonard Cohen on Crescent Street.

To do this, take the orange metro and get off at the Mont Royal station. Then take bus number 11 that goes up to Mont Royal. Get off bus 11 at the stop "Remembrance – Chemin du chalet." After a short walk of a few minutes, you finally arrive at the Mont Royal chalet, with its breathtaking view of the city!

Mount Royal Park is truly one of the lungs of the city! In winter, you go there for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or skating on the beaver lake (where there are no beavers, I should clarify! 😉 ). And then in summer, you go there to chill with your friends, go for a little hike.
