Opinion

Surrounded by these cold steles, a deep silence reigns there. Although they may seem small at first glance, once you are there, you feel ridiculously small, lost in a giant labyrinth. I must say that this kind of place particularly moves me. In short, a must-see ❤️

Information

Regarding the Memorial, I must say that our visit began quite poorly. Indeed, I envisioned it surrounded by trees, in a peaceful corner, but... not at all. The 2,711 steles are arranged in a large space in the middle of the city, with construction sites everywhere. The disappointment could have been huge if we hadn't gone to the heart of the Memorial.

Information

Near the Brandenburg Gate is the Holocaust Memorial. It pays tribute to the approximately 6 million Jews who were killed during World War II. About 2,700 stelae of different sizes make up this concrete cemetery.
