Today, it is possible to see the station either by taking a train on line 6 and watching the windows as you pass by, or by purchasing a ticket to visit the New York Transit Museum.

During the construction of the New York subway, the City Hall station was meant to be the centerpiece of the project, the most grandiose of the central stations. However, a few years after its opening in 1904, it became clear that it was also the least used station. Ultimately, the station was closed in 1945 and abandoned.
