Staten Island Ferry

The ferry connects Manhattan Island to Staten Island for free and the little extra: it passes right in front of the Statue of Liberty.

It is the most used (free!) means of transportation to reach Staten Island from Manhattan. It departs every day, 24/7 from the Whitehall Ferry Terminal at the southern end of the Financial District, in Battery Park. A good experience that will also take you past the Statue of Liberty.
