I advise you to book in advance online. Even though the site is still little known and frequented, the number of daily visits is limited and spots fill up quickly. The Canyon is open from 9 AM to 3 PM. I recommend booking a time slot between 11 AM and 1 PM to take advantage of the most favorable lighting.

Canyon X is another slot canyon shaped and carved over the years by erosion. Canyon X actually splits into 2 canyons: a "Y" shaped canyon opening towards the sky, allowing in a lot of light; a second canyon, shaped like an "A," receiving a little less brightness. They are connected by a path located in a much wider canyon.

All displayed prices are increased by $8 per person over 8 years old, which constitutes the park access fee (payable in cash only): the Navajo Nation Fee (remember to keep the receipts) and $3-4 in taxes. If you pay for your tour by credit card, the price may increase by 3 to 5% depending on the agencies. Expect $39 per person. There is a Photo Tour available for $125.

Visitors are prohibited from bringing large photo equipment (they organize special tours for that). It is also forbidden to bring: backpacks, camera bags (even small ones), GoPro, multiple lenses, tripods, selfie sticks… Bring ONLY your camera or your phone (they are very strict about this, unfortunately, it is non-negotiable).

When you arrive at the parking lot, you need to present your reservation at the counter at least 10 to 15 minutes in advance to avoid missing the convoy's departure. In exchange, you will be given a sticky note to attach to your windshield with the time of your visit. Once all participants are present (around 15 to 20 people), you will need to line up behind the lead vehicle. If the condition of the road leading to Antelope Canyon X is poor or if your vehicle is not suitable to travel on this road, you will be transported in a shuttle. The convoy will set off along a 4-kilometer road to reach a large parking area (allow about 15 minutes for the trip). Once at the parking lot, you should join the guides who will form the groups. We go down some stairs, and the visit can begin. We will explore the 2 canyons. The return is made via the same path, taking the initial series of stairs to get back to the parking lot and your car. You will need to follow the lead vehicle to exit the site.
