Brisbane

The capital of the state of Queensland, is a large city that stretches along the Brisbane River. Its cultural center, the South Bank district, is home to the Queensland Museum and the Sciencentre, which offers interactive exhibits. Another cultural institution in the area, the Queensland Art Gallery, also known as GOMA, is one of the major contemporary art museums in Australia. Overlooking the city, Mount Coot-tha houses the Brisbane Botanic Gardens.
