From afar, it looks like a huge pile of sand. Up close, one understands all the subtleties of the place. You can see the crevices and imagine the water flowing during the rainy season. You can also envision it during Aboriginal rituals. It is easy to grasp the history of the area and the traditions attached to it at the office at the entrance to the site, but also throughout the hike thanks to the information panels. Uluru is unique and felt. It’s like climbing the Himalayas without it being difficult. You just have to go there and take in what life around this emblem of Australia could have been like.
