Most visitors settle for exploring the park for half a day or a day. It is doable, but the scenery is so fabulous that I recommend staying at least a day and a half (with 2 nights on-site) to take the time to appreciate the park in its entirety and to enjoy the sunrise.

Situated between 2018 and 2748 meters above sea level, Bryce Canyon National Park is hidden in the forest and only reveals itself to visitors at the very last moment. When discovered for the first time, it is always a shock, especially when one does not know what to expect! Despite its name, it is not a canyon but a limestone plateau sculpted by erosion into a fantastic army of fairy chimneys, also called hoodoos, which range from yellow-orange to red. Amidst these warm colors, the intense green of the Colorado pines completes the already fantastic picture. Be careful: this park is at high altitude, so remember to take warm clothing.

There is only one entrance to the north of the park, located on UT-63. The park is open every day, 24/7, while the Visitor Center, at the entrance of the park on the right, is open every day from 8 AM to 8 PM between May and September (from 8 AM to 6 PM in October and April, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM the rest of the year). The entrance fee is $35/vehicle, $30/motorcycle, $20/person on foot or by bicycle. Admission is valid for 7 days. The America the Beautiful Pass (also called the Interagency Annual Pass) is accepted.
